Ky’s Saturday morning boot camp is awesome! He’s super motivating and really challenges you to be the best you can be. He encourages rest and hydration, which is so important, while still giving positive feedback that it is important to know your own body and its limits. You will definitely get a full body burn throughout the whole boot camp! And trust me, you’ll be sore everywhere probably the next few days. 😂 But no matter what it may be, you’re training for a race or just trying to stay active for your health, Ky is a great trainer who is willing to help you reach your goals. Training with Ky is the best! I attended his Saturday morning boot camp sessions and this was my first time working out in the group setting with an instructor, but I loved it so much. I first contacted Ky through his website a couple weeks before my one month vacation in Oahu. He answered promptly and I was impressed by his knowledge and enthusiasm when talking with him. I knew he would be a very good fit for me. He asked me what my goals were and as a senior, I wanted to be functionally fit with a strong core and also have good balance. I have never trained with a trainer before so Ky started me on some conditioning workouts before my trip and checked on me after each workout, modifying them to suit my level.I have had 5 sessions with Ky in his gym now. I love how he motivates me and makes me confident that I can complete each exercise. Ky is also very careful that I have good form so that I do not get injured. Each exercise is personalized to my needs and strengths and he takes videos of them so I can see how I am doing. The workouts are so much fun because there is so much variety. Ky has so many different types of equipment so the workouts are never boring. I feel stronger and my balance has increased. I’m able to carry bags up and down the stairs without holding on to the railing. My family is amazed with the progress that I have made when they see the workout videos after each session. I am so happy with Ky’s training that I am going to continue training on line with him after my stay in Oahu. If you want to get in shape, I highly recommend you contact Ky. I am so glad I did.

My 12 year old son has been going through Ky‘s training and practices for several months now. Results are there! My son is much stronger and more focused on his main sport with baseball. Throwing stronger and hitting harder and he says “i feel more in shape and much stronger”. Ky has good motivational skills in getting any age group in shape. Time to time i would bring my daughter to join or i would join with them. Ky focuses more on core strengthening but he can modify and focus what you wanna work on. Great motivator!

My kids and I train with Ky and we're extremely happy with his personal training. His coaching style is great for both me (45 yrs) and my kids (10 and 12 yrs old). Functional fitness is no joke! Coach Ky has now been training our 10 year old son twice a week for a month now. Coach Ky functional fitness program was exactly what we were looking for during our sons football off season. Our sons strength, mindset, posture, and balance has tremendously improved in just one month. This is probably the hardest our son has ever worked out but Coach Ky makes it fun. Coach Ky is very encouraging and patient with him. He explains everything to him so he understands and he also explains how he can tie the movement to football. Our son looks forward to his workouts with Coach Ky every week. We can’t thank Coach Ky enough on how much he is helping our son grow as an athlete.

Ky is an awesome trainer. Makes you believe in yourself and pushes you to make you better. The workouts will strengthen your body and especially your core and endurance. After a hip replacement Ky has given me core exercises to do to strengthen the hip. At least give it a try. No going back !!

Ky is one of the best trainers I have ever been around !My 11 yr old son loves and looks forward to his training days !Workouts are challenging but Ky inspires and instills confidence and Sometimes that’s all a kid needs to get it done - than that feeling of accomplishment sets in & that’s when you know this is a really good thing absolutely perfect for my son !His core and roots will be very strong stronger than most his age and even older and all we have to do is keep coming back.Low impact on his joints so he can grow without injury but at the same time building strength & power from within.On top of that he got me working out with my son. It really is a special thing to get to workout with your son. He gets to push me now.I highly recommend Ky to everybody of all ages I’m 45 and my son is 11 and he can blend our workouts together perfect for what we both need.Thank you Ky !!

I’ve been doing functional fitness with Ky for 30min once a week for a month now. The mental and physical intensity is incredible and motivates my entire week. My weekly workouts change but I’m actually doing full body every session. I’m stronger in all areas as well as my mental fitness. I’m eating 3 or more times a day but the scale has gone down about 6lbs. The workouts are not basic or monotonous. I feel like I’m actually achieving a goal every workout and it’s changed the way I see fitness. I don’t need a gym anymore or anything fancy. I see the world as my gym. I also find that my to do lists are getting done. Ky makes me feel and understand that anything is possible. These workouts are for any fitness level. It’s me against me! I took Ky’s Circuit Boot Camp and he is amazing!He’s program is built to push myself to the limit. He have a really good understanding of functional fitness and he explains how to do his workout and how it’s beneficial very well.However what I really like a out Key Fitness is the energy of the community. Consistently uninspired by exercise and fitness, Ky motivates and inspires his “boot campers” to not only challenge each other but to challenge themselves. I think what I like most about my sessions is that I TRULY have worked out, my heart rate is off the charts, and every workout is different! Ky will not let you plateau and you will not be bored! Going on a hike in Oahu with Key as our guide was one of the highlights of my recent trip to Hawaii. I visit the islands annually and have been on many hikes but this experience was unique. My group was looking to do a more challenging trail so Key recommended Ka’au Crater. This trail was almost 6 miles with more than 1,500 ft elevation, with muddy trails, large boulders, unmaintained tropical brush, streams, waterfalls, and oh so beautiful.Key was the perfect balance of hiking with a friend yet with enough knowledge to share about local vegetation and urban legends. He is funny, entertaining, super motivating, and makes you feel you are in safe hands should any problems arise. This trail hike was hands down the most challenging hike I’ve done but easily my most enjoyable. It pushed me to my limits but with Keys help, I didn’t question that it was within my reach. The hours honestly flew by in between our jokes, interesting stories, and Instagram perfect photo shoots lol.I would hands down recommend him to anyone looking to learn more about the area or are looking for a good physical challenge as he is a fitness expertise as well. Give him a try and I promise you won’t be disappointed!P. S. He’s thoughtful enough to bring us apples and snacks, had booties and wipes ready for us after we were covered in dirt and took us to a local açai spot. Sooo Ono 🙂 These details definitely set him apart.

One of the best hikes in recent memory, ending at a magical waterfall (from out of the movies or children's books). Key led our team of 12 himself, and was a **motivational superstar** providing encouragement with delicious Fuji Apple slices locally made shortbread cookies as the final reward at the top. I would recommend signing up for any of the outdoor activities offered by Key Fitness Hawaii, and try and get Key himself if possible. Mahalo Brother!

If you are looking for adventure and fun Ky is your guy. He took me, my cousin, and my friend on an amazing hike up Ka’au Crater hike. It was about 6 miles, around 1,500ft elevation and 3 gorgeous waterfalls. The hike was challenging and adventurous. He made it so much fun and provided educational insights. Whenever I’m in Hawaii I will definitely have Ky take me on another. I recommend him to all my friends, family and to you all.

If you want an AMAZING experience with an amazing guide, Key is the one for you! He He took our team on an amazing adventure to a gorgeous waterfall. I've known Ky since the 1990's when he was running the gym at the Atkinson YMCA. My body has been broken for many years. I have connected with many personal training situations. I’ve mainly connected with doctors because the conditions of my shoulders and knees from years of martial arts. Finding Key Fitness has changed my life. His outlook on fitness and personal training is definitely unique.With his energy level and the way he physically looks, I was intimidated and calling him. I trained with Ky back in 2016 when I was preparing for the 2017 Miss Chinatown Hawaii/Miss Hawaii Chinese Pageant. His sessions were always rigorous, but he knew how to make them fun and enjoyable. I wanted to lose fat and gain muscle, so he designed personal workouts for me to reach my goals. He even took the time to take videos of me working out so I could watch my improvements over time— which I am happy to say there were a lot of! He also gave me a personalized meal plan which consisted of a high protein diet which allowed me to see faster results. I gained more muscle tone, while still maintaining a slim physique. I felt stronger and stronger after every session, and even on the days where I thought I would pass out (hello Tabata workouts lol), Ky’s positive spirit and energy kept me focused and I was able to crush all of my personal goals. With his experience in body building competitions, he was even able to help me with my walk, posing, and overall stage presence— all of which helped me tremendously in my pageant competition. I ended up winning the title of Miss Hawaii Chinese 2017, and if there was an actual award for the Swimsuit competition I would have dedicated it to him. Thank you so much, Ky!

I very much enjoy working out with Ky. His variety of exercises and his creativity never gets old - he keeps you motivated, keeps your interest and keeps you challenged. Ky is encouraging and gets the most effort out of me as I try to meet the challenges he sets up.I have noticed much improvement in my stamina, strength and balance since working out with him.He is the very best!!!!

I have had several sessions with Ky over the past 3 weeks, and am really enjoying my training so far. Ky is both motivational and encouraging, but also challenges me. I fear he is going to catch on to my sandbagging and will ratchet up the pain...but it is what I need! And I can already tell from just a handful of sessions that he is very attentive to a training regimen that is tailored to what I can physically handle, but is always going to push me mentally so that I continue to improve more and more. Since I am trying to lose a lot of weight and get back into shape, Ky has given me homework assignments, checked in on me via text, and even stopped by my house to see what my home gym setup was like so that he would know what I can do at home to further tailor my "homework" workouts. I have never had a personal trainer before, but so far so good! Let's go get these goals!!Thanks, Ky!

Ky is such an awesome and fun instructor! I’ve seen such great progress just in a couple of sessions. He motivates me and pushes me to do things I didn’t think capable of doing. It was so sudden. In the morning, I went in for a heart check-up. That afternoon, I was being prepped for surgery. It ended up being a cardiac quadruple bypass. A month of slow recovery, dependant on others to help me do simple things followed. Imagine barely being able to walk up and down stairs without using handrails because you cannot put any pressure on your upper body or risk tearing the newly repaired heart arteries. Getting out of bed was a task. I needed my legs, quads, hamstrings, and glutes to do all the heavy lifting. Most of all, I needed my core muscles to support their work. Guess what?!! I had nearly zero core muscles!When I was cleared to exercise, two months later, I was nervous. I felt so weak. I felt like it was impossible to be stronger with my weak heart. I didn't want to be judged by a fitness buff. I didn't want lectures. And, I didn't want to be in a gym figuring machines out with people around me.What followed changed my life.I met Ky Vuong. I talked to him about building up my core strength. There was no judgement. He was supportive. And, he goes at my pace challenging me when he can and easing up with low impact exercises when I'm winded. I am not in a group setting and I never once felt less than for not being in shape.It’s been about three months on a once a week workout with Ky. I have noticed my strength returning better than even before! I have improved agility with the core workouts, and the balancing training which I sucked at on day one, is now fun! Every week he introduces a new variation into the workouts which are anything but routine. I can handle the stairs and carry groceries now. My girlfriend even said I've improved my posture!Ky has terrific interpersonal skills. He's patient with a novice like me even though I know he has high intensity clients, too. If you are like me, a non-fitness guy who just needs to be a little stronger today for a better tomorrow, and you're also wanting a dynamic, interesting, and different workout everytime you exercise, please consider giving Ky Vuong a call. I'm so glad I did.

Key Fitness Hawaii will help you reach your fitness goals! I wanted stronger legs and higher endurance to make hiking trails in Hawaii easier. After five weeks, I can feel the difference. Moderate hikes are now significantly easier. I spend more time enjoying the views rather than catching my breath.

Progress. Momentum. Results. Lifesaver. These are a few out of many positive words that describe my experience with Health and Fitness Coach, Ky Vuong.In May 2021, my partner underwent heart surgery. From that point, I listened to the universe's very clear message that he and I needed to give ourselves the care and focus that we've been neglecting. For him, he needed to rebuild those critical core stability muscles to include re-strengthening his newly repaired cardiac muscle. For me, I wasn't as disciplined as I needed to be to maintain a fitness regime on my own. I walk a mile every other day, but that's about the extent of necessary exercise I give myself. My partner and I didn't want to do the gym route. I personally tried distance training on video, going through tabata and yoga routines uninspired. And, I was not in a position to help train my partner who was still recovering from heart surgery. My partner and I realized we wanted a guide who could understand our unique and very different needs and who would be okay with us going at a pace that was a balance of challenge and comfort for each of us. I trained with Ky more than four years ago, and knew he would be the one to help us now.I called and he wouldn't start with us right away as he required a doctor release my partner for exercise. Three weeks later, we had our first meet and greet session. Ky inspired us and challenged us with the right amount of balance that my partner felt safe to return again and again to work with Ky more. We love the one on one unique functional fitness exercises. We love his anecdotes and fun personality. We love his professionalism and genuine care for the human condition. We even love his new puppy Rocky!I am so proud of Ky because he loves to give his knowledge to coach EVERYONE! What I mean is that he coaches the whole spectrum from kids, to recovering heart survivors, to ninja warrior type clients, to family fitness groups, and to senior citizens. I am most inspired by one of his senior citizen clients who has been training with him for more than 4 years. He said she loves to travel and traverses the world alone. She doesn't want to depend on anyone to lift luggage for her or struggle with mobility. She committed to keep herself strong in mind, body, and spirit. Ky is a great personal trainer! I originally started working with him while competing for a pageant and he has a lot of experience with a variety of fitness levels & goals. Ky is extremely qualified and always gently pushed me to work during our 1 on 1 hour long sessions. I never dreaded our workouts because he was always nice to talk to but still encouraged me to put in the work. He’s all about positive reinforcement - I never once felt like he was reprimanding or shaming me even if I felt like I was not consistent during the week. This made our communication very honest and transparent, which helped me a lot with my relationship with my health & goals. He has a very reasonable price point for the amount of attention he puts into your training during your session, but also throughout the week. Ky was almost like my personal cheerleader because he was so positive while training and whenever I expressed doubts about my progress. Whether you’re a beginner or more advanced in your fitness journey, Ky will be there to help you achieve those goals. He puts a lot of thought into your program and takes interest in your personal life too to help you work on your goals when you’re not training. Can’t recommend him enough, he’s not just a great trainer but a great person too!

First of all I love working out with Ky! I have tried a couple other trainers, let me tell you Ky is the one to come to if you want total body conditioning! Every time I work out with him I feel stronger then the last session! I love the fact that he will tell you more the less would be good for you to eat so you can diet...and he doesn’t just have us use the computer for our diet! Don’t be scared give this guy a try he is the REAL deal!

Such a great experience with Key Fitness Hawaii, and his take on functional fitness. I have done group training and also personal training with Ky and I can tell you that my body was in the best shape it’s ever been when I trained with him. He knew my fitness goals and helped me to achieve them by always throwing new challenges at me which kept me motivated. His style of training is so fun and innovative-it helped me to get real strong and real toned fast-without it feeling like a chore. I highly recommend anyone at any fitness level to train with him. I've known Ky for 14yrs now. I thought I was in decent shape when I met him, he showed me a lot of proper and correct training techniques and helped me for weeks. I saw amazing results, that was 12yrs ago. Fast forward to now, I did a session with him 3 weeks ago and again he showed me that I'm "strong" but I'm not in shape. He customized my workout program based off what I have available in my garage home gym. He customized training videos for me and what to do, he watched my technique by facetime and showed me what I needed to fix and improve. I've seen physical changes and results in the last 3 weeks and I feel much stronger. I'll continue to use Key Fitness Hawaii for as long as I can , he cares about me personally and my fitness. He regularly checks how I'm doing and wants me to send him progress videos. He's a great coach and friend. Highly recommend.

I have to say I have train with MANY trainers and Key definitely is not only fully attentive to your needs but really knows the science behind what it takes to do the correct formats of workouts and to get you to your health and for was needs.Hw reads the body to insure it can withstand the workouts he gives tu and watches you to make sure you have proper form . When I felt like giving up he pushed me to take my time but finish the workout . He has your best interest heart and that is number one ☝️

I have never experienced such a marked improvement with my strength and conditioning than when I trained with Ky.He is always encouraging, never intimidating and his style of training motivates you to constantly challenge yourself. I started going to Ky to train for Army Basic Training. As a female, my main concerns were the endless amounts of push ups and running expected at boot camp. With Ky's tailor-made training plans in just two months I went from a 9min/mile to 7:30min/mile. I went from doing 25 push ups in 2 mins to 66 push ups. Ky's charisma and cardio-centric workouts gets results fast. Because of him, boot camp was a breeze and I received the "Soldier of the Cycle" award. Thank you Ky!

I was competing in a pageant and wanted to tone my body up. I found Ky through my family friend and started doing group & individual work outs with him. When i competed in my pageant I felt so confident walking on the stage. He was motivating without the yelling and his exercises were customized for my body type. I am a senior and Ky works extremely well w/me - he is a good motivator, makes sure my form is correct for each type of exercise, and is right at my side if I have a problem w/balance - I feel comfortable working with Ky and feel my strength, endurance and balance are all improving with the workouts he plans for me - he keeps the workouts varied and interesting - it is never boring, just hard work. I found Ky through a high school friend’s video. I saw her progress and wanted the same for myself. I knew I needed motivation and that Ky would be able to provide that.I reached out to Ky and scheduled my first session with him. It was one hour long and I never felt that kind of work out in my life. It felt great! He got me to work every muscle and made that one hour worth it. The next day I felt my muscles tightening. I was a little sore for a couple of days but it was the good kind of pain.Ky has a great setup in his garage; he has a wide range of equipment that will work every part of your body. I’ve had many trainers in the past from different gyms and it just never felt right for me; I felt no motivation.Since my first session, I’ve gone once a week. After a month or so I‘be seen some progress especially because I changed the way I ate and began intermittent fasting. With each session I learned something new that helped improve my work outs at home.Having Ky as a trainer, I’ve noticed I am motivated to hike or go on a walk. I noticed my health getting better; my back isn’t hurting as much anymore and I did all that workout without doing much lifting. We did most of the workout with a 10 lb ball.Overall I am very glad I met Ky this year and am looking forward to seeing my progress at the end of the year.

Key Fitness Hawai’i is exactly what I was looking for in a personal trainer and workout. Functional fitness is the top priority and Ky is always fun and encouraging. He knows what your fitness level is and is always changing the workouts to suit your needs and to mix it up. I have done both one-on-one and group classes, both are very challenging and fun! I have trained with Ky a couple of years ago and I must say... this gentleman does not disappoint, his professionalism, quality, creativity, the unlimited amount of support, the passion and drive he gives really is 150 percent. The amazing thing about Ky is that he really creatively caters to you! Each workout is specifically designed to target certain groups of muscles that trigger key areas and wakes them up. You start noticing muscles you never knew you had or were there. Not every workout is the same either, each one is different, Ky really knows how to make each set different and fun! He not only motivates but he is really innovative too, he is really smart on his workouts, you can tell that he genuinely really cares and takes a lot of time in observing and training you, he really caters to YOU! who is his client, he carefully plans each core section and each on is unique. There is never the same workout sets that you did previously so each one is different. You will get a different way every time and that’s what makes it special! He really is inspiring to train with period. Very smart at what he does! I would highly recommend Ky to everyone!!!

Ky is such an awesome Trainer! Very great at working around your schedule and your needs. I come from a military background and have been stricken with a plethora of injuries. Ky works around my injuries and helps strengthen the surrounding muscles. He cares about you and improving your well being. Everyone should definitely try tugging the 400 pound chain at least once!

I having been training with KY for the last 5 years. Due to a shoulder injury from previous sports activity from when I was a teenager I had a torn rotator cuff. I'd been to everyone physical therapists, doctors, other personal trainers, but none of them could help me. My shoulder had gotten to the point where I was going to need surgery for it.But then I met Ky who not only was very knowledgeable in the body, but understood how to push me in the right direction. By consistently working out with him, and doing his very creative training routines ( watch some of his videos) I didn't need shoulder surgery.I would recommended Ky to anyone who is ready and willing to start working out! As not only Ky a very positive and encouraging person in general, but he is also willing to work together with you on your own personal fitness goals and needs.
